Hampden Estate Pagos
Unique, rich and compelling: the first 100% Sherry aged Hampden.
Taking its name from the Spanish word used to describe plots of vineyards in the Jerez area, Hampden Estate Pagos is the first bottling in the distillery’s history to be exclusively aged in sherry casks. Like the world’s most aromatic whiskies, such as those produced on Islay, the Jamaican rum embraces perfectly with the Andalusian wine’s notes of rancio without being overpowered by them, leading to a completely new profile of aromas.
It is the perfect bottle to appeal to rum enthusiasts and fans of sherry cask single malts alike.

Avantgarde in Ageing
A classic ageing process, used for the first time at Hampden Estate

Ageing in ex-sherry casks has been common practice in the world of whisky for decades. Even if some of the most sought-after, complex single malts have benefitted from this type of ageing vessel for many years, this process is not often seen in the world of rum: Pagos is a world premiere, the first ever experiment to age Hampden Estate rum in ex sherry casks.
The highest quality sherry casks, thanks to a precious partnership

Ageing in ex-sherry casks is most impactful on the spirit only if the quality of the butts used is of the highest level possible. Through a very
special partnership with Bodegas Lustau, founded in 1896 and one of the leading producers in Jerez, Hampden Estate has secured access to top quality casks used to age the best Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherries.
A great synergy between sherry and rum, the best of both worlds

The fruity intensity and the high ester profile of Hampden Estate matches perfectly the woody aromatic palette and deep, rich color brought by the ex-sherry casks. The nutty and savory components given by oloroso, along with the sweet and spicy notes of Pedro Ximenez make Pagos a truly exceptional rum with a unique identity.
